Tim Bergling, known as Avicii, was a Swedish DJ, record producer, and songwriter who became one of the most influential figures in electronic music. Starting his career as a teenager by sharing remixes online, he quickly rose to fame in 2011 with the global hit Levels. His 2013 debut album True mixed electronic sounds with other genres and produced the chart-topping single Wake Me Up, which became a worldwide anthem. Avicii followed up with the albums Stories and the EP Avīci 01, and released a series of international hits including Hey Brother, Addicted to You, Waiting for Love, Lonely Together, and SOS. He received Grammy nominations for his collaborations with artists like David Guetta and helped bring electronic music to mainstream pop radio in the early 2010s. Bergling retired from touring in 2016 and, after his untimely death in 2018, the posthumous album Tim was released in 2019. His greatest hits collection, Avicii Forever, released in 2025, broke streaming records and became one of the most-listened electronic albums ever. Avicii's legacy continues to shape the sound of modern dance music across the globe.
