Michael Brandon Lake, born June 21, 1990, is an American Christian worship singer, songwriter, and guitarist known for his passionate, contemporary worship music. Originally writing songs at Seacoast Church in Charleston, South Carolina, he launched his music career with the independent release of his debut album Closer in 2016. After joining Bethel Music in 2019, Lake gained recognition with the release of "This Is a Move," earning a GMA Dove Award and his first Grammy nomination. Lake's second album, House of Miracles, featured the successful singles "I Need a Ghost" and "Just Like Heaven" and reached the top ten on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart. He is also known for collaborations, including "Graves into Gardens" with Elevation Worship, which became a chart-topping Christian hit. His continued success includes multiple GMA Dove Awards, as well as notable songs with Bethel Music, Maverick City Music, and Chris Tomlin.
