The LTD Volsung is the Signature Series guitar from Lars Frederiksen of the iconic punk rock band Rancid. Updated in an amazing new Oxblood Satin finish, the Volsung is based on the ESP Viper shape, but with a body that is even more streamlined, keeping the guitar's light weight and resonant sound ideal for energy-filled live shows and long recording/writing/jamming sessions. This guitar offers traditional set-neck construction at 24.75” scale, with a mahogany body and thin U-shaped three-piece mahogany neck. LTD also updated the Volsung to a 22-fret design, maximizing the sweet spot for the neck pickup. The Volsung includes a Macassar ebony fingerboard with extra-jumbo frets, Luminlay glow-in-the-dark side markers, and white binding that extends around the headstock. Components include a TonePros locking TOM bridge and tailpiece, Gotoh tuners, and a set of Lars' signature EMG pickups, the LF-DMF. This passive pickup set features a ceramic magnet in the bridge for excellent articulation and an Alnico V in the neck for punchy, in-your-face midrange. The LTD Volsung also offers a unique three-control configuration, with individual knobs for each pickup volume plus a tone control. Includes deluxe ESP hardshell case.
