Good Charlotte is an American rock band from Waldorf, Maryland, formed in 1995. The lineup features Joel Madden on vocals, Benji Madden on guitar and vocals, Paul Thomas on bass, Billy Martin on guitar and keyboards, and Dean Butterworth on drums. Known for their energetic pop punk style, they broke out with their 2002 album The Young and the Hopeless, which included hits like Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous and The Anthem and achieved multi-platinum status. The band continued to evolve their sound on later albums such as The Chronicles of Life and Death, Good Morning Revival, and Cardiology. After a hiatus, they returned with Youth Authority in 2016 and Generation Rx in 2018. Good Charlotte has also released compilations and announced their eighth album, Motel Du Cap, set for release in August 2025.
