The rugged Cat5e CAT5E-1M cable provides a two-way digital audio data connection and includes Neutrik etherCON NE8MC-1 connectors with integrated O-ring seal for water protection - IP54, especially desirable for concert tours and festival applications. When used with the Midas PRO and M Series and Klark Teknik products equipped with HyperMAC and a copper snake interface, the CAT5E-1M cable can transmit up to 192 two-way channels of 24-bit digital audio at a sampling frequency of 96 kHz. The CAT5E-1M also supports 24 bidirectional channels and 48 bidirectional channels at a sampling frequency of 96 kHz and 48 kHz for AES50 connections. CAT5E-1M can also be used for standard Ethernet applications and is suitable for both 100 Mbit / s and gigabit networks.

The CAT5E-1M cable uses a highly durable unshielded Belden 1305A cable with a nominal diameter of 7.6 mm. Cable 1305A contains 24 AWG bonded stranded (7/32) copper conductors with polyolefin insulation and inner and outer protective PVC sheath.
