The Hellacopters are a Swedish garage rock band formed in 1994 by Nicke Andersson, Dregen Svensson, Kenny Håkansson, and Robert Eriksson. Originally started as a side project, the group quickly became central to the Swedish rock revival and is considered one of the country’s most influential modern rock acts. Their energetic style blends classic rock influences with punk attitude.
Their debut album, Supershitty to the Max, released in 1996, won a Swedish Grammi and established their reputation for raw, high-octane rock and roll. The lineup evolved over the years, with key additions like keyboardist Anders Lindström and guitarist Robert Dahlqvist, and the band continued to release acclaimed albums including Grande Rock and High Visibility.
After disbanding in 2008, The Hellacopters reunited in 2016 for select performances and later returned to the studio. In 2022, they released Eyes of Oblivion, followed by Overdriver in 2025, confirming their enduring influence and dedication to powerful, melodic rock music.
