Tyler Gregory Okonma, born March 6, 1991, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer known as Tyler, the Creator. Rising to prominence in the late 2000s as the co-founder and leader of Odd Future, he quickly made his mark as a creative force both within the collective and through his solo work. Tyler’s debut album, Bastard, brought early online attention, while Goblin and its hit single "Yonkers" propelled him into the mainstream, though not without controversy for his provocative lyrics and horrorcore influences.
Over the years, Tyler evolved his sound, moving towards jazz, soul, and R and B, notably on albums such as Wolf, Cherry Bomb, and the critically acclaimed Flower Boy. His records Igor and Call Me If You Get Lost both topped the Billboard charts and won Grammy Awards for Best Rap Album. Recent projects include Chromakopia and the dance-focused album Don't Tap the Glass.
Beyond music, Tyler is a trailblazer in fashion through his Golf Wang and Le Fleur brands and has collaborated with Lacoste, Converse, and Louis Vuitton. He founded the annual Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, which features high-profile artists. Tyler also directs his own music videos under the name Wolf Haley. Recognized with multiple Grammy, BET, and BRIT awards, and celebrated as a cultural innovator, Tyler, the Creator remains one of the most influential figures in contemporary music and style.
