Phosphor Bronze Single String for Acoustic Guitar

The D'Addario PB025 is a single replacement string designed for acoustic guitar, wound in phosphor bronze to deliver the warm, bright, and balanced tone that has made this string series a standard choice for steel-string players. At .025" gauge, this string typically serves as the G-string in standard light or custom light gauge sets, making it ideal for replacing a single broken or worn string without having to change the entire set. The hex steel core provides stability and consistent tension, while the round wound phosphor bronze wrap produces the characteristic bright attack and warm sustain that acoustic players expect. Available in gauges from .017 to .070, the PB series covers every position in a standard acoustic string set.

Who Is It For

The D'Addario PB025 is the right choice for acoustic guitar players who need to replace a single broken or worn G-string without buying a full set. It suits players who prefer the warm, balanced tone of phosphor bronze for strumming, fingerpicking, and flatpicking styles across folk, country, blues, and rock genres. The ball end design ensures compatibility with most standard acoustic guitar bridges with pin-style construction, and the hex steel core provides the stability needed for consistent tuning and playability. Whether you're a gigging musician who breaks strings regularly or a hobbyist looking to extend the life of an existing set, this replacement string lets you swap out just the worn G without restringing the whole guitar.
