Shure GLXD16+ — Pro Wireless That Lives on Your Pedalboard

The Shure GLXD16+ Digital Wireless Guitar Pedal System puts reliable, cable-free performance into a single stompbox that drops into the first slot of your pedalboard. Built around new Dual Band wireless technology, the unit operates across both 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz spectrum, more than doubling the bandwidth of a typical wireless rig. This pedal-format receiver suits guitarists and bassists who want studio-grade wireless reliability without giving up pedalboard real estate.

What Makes This Wireless System Different

The GLXD6+ pedal receiver doubles as a chromatic tuner with selectable Strobe or Needle modes and a reference pitch adjustable from 432 Hz to 447 Hz, freeing up the slot a dedicated tuner pedal would occupy. A true bypass 1/4" input lets you switch between a wired backup instrument and the wireless signal at the press of a button, while the included WA305 Premium Instrument Cable with locking thread keeps the bodypack connection secure through a full set.

Wireless Performance and Power Specs

Auto frequency management is the heart of the system: the receiver continuously scans both 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands, locks onto the cleanest channel, and automatically switches to a backup frequency when interference appears. Power for this model is provided via standard 9V DC at a minimum of 400 mA.

• System Frequency Bands: 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz — Dual Band operation gives more than double the bandwidth of single-band wireless systems
• Frequency Range: 20 Hz – 20 kHz — full-range response that preserves the natural character of guitar and bass pickups
• Battery runtime reaches up to 12 hours (5.8 GHz) or 17 hours (2.4 GHz), ensuring that the longest gigs are covered on a single SB904 charge.
• Power Input: 9V DC, minimum 400 mA — drops into any standard pedalboard power supply

Who Should Consider the GLXD16+

The GLXD16+ is aimed at gigging guitarists and bassists who run a pedalboard-based rig and want wireless freedom without adding a rack unit. Touring players in crowded RF environments — clubs, festivals, houses of worship — benefit most from Dual Band scanning. The integrated chromatic tuner appeals to players who already rely on a dedicated tuner pedal, while the 1/4" true bypass input makes the system equally useful for silent practice at home.
