Grinderman was an Australian-American rock band formed in London in 2006 by Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Martyn P. Casey, and Jim Sclavunos. Created as a raw and energetic side project to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, the band embraced a more stripped-down, garage rock sound. Their name was taken from the Memphis Slim song Grinder Man Blues, reflecting their gritty, blues-influenced style. Grinderman released two critically acclaimed albums, Grinderman in 2007 and Grinderman 2 in 2010, both noted for their intense and experimental edge. After disbanding in 2011 to refocus on the Bad Seeds, Grinderman briefly reunited for performances in 2013. Hints from the band suggest the possibility of a third album in the future.
