Melody Gardot, born February 2, 1985, is an American jazz singer known for her soulful voice and emotive performances. After surviving a serious accident at age 19, she used music as a key part of her recovery. Gardot later became an advocate for music therapy, supporting its benefits in hospitals and universities, and has a music therapy program named after her in New Jersey.
